jc615: I have no interest in Uniden or any other company for that matter. I'm retired anyway. I only posted it because I was in this area before and the advice being given about radar detectors wasn't the best. I own an Escort Max II and will be keeping it for some time. There are also a couple of other manufacturers that I would recommend such as Radenso and if you're low on money even the very top of the line Cobra is usable. Btw I'd never own a Cobra. The Uniden R series radar detectors have beaten the detector with the best range(redline) for about 8 years now so it is pretty exciting. I'm sure some people will find the information useful. Btw the only reason I wouldn't recommend Escort detectors is not because of their ability but because for the competition has one upped them for less money.
Alrock: All of the newer detectors have BSM filtering. It's far from perfect but works pretty well. Also getting gps on the radar detector shuts it up quite a bit too. They are far more quiet than an old Bel.
