As good as the new ZL1 is, even in regular form, it just doesn't do it for me like the Z/28 does/did. I've said it many times before. The Z/28 is a car I HAD to own. I've owned almost 90 cars in my life and have never had the same feeling about a car like I do this one. If there were no Z/28, then absolutely, I would go after a ZL1 or probably a Z06...like I almost did recently.
Then I came to my senses after waxing my Z/28. The car is ****ing perfect exactly the way it is. Once I have my Z/28 paid off, my next car will be a 2000 Mustang Cobra R because that is the only other car that gives me the same feeling the Z/28 does. No, it's not the fastest car around, but dammit it's so freaken cool.
