Old guys .02c - I bought my first 69Z in 1978 it was rough and I kept it many years as DD then weekend car then got my second one in 1987 after first one was wrecked and I still have it today. I liked it then and still do now, buy what YOU like and enjoy it!
When they announced in '13? that the Z was coming back I really got excited thinking they would be between a SS and a ZL1? boy was I wrong and disappointed. both Z's and my other 69s (had a 6 cyl convert then a pace car) were reasonable to buy in the 80s- under 2k I'd have a hard time buying one for what they are worth now. All cars do the cycle- drop down few years or immediately after purchase then go back up due to attrition and they become rarer than they were new.
These modern Z's will rebound, my advice- keep them stock or few easy to do bolt ons - and save your original parts! You guys own modern day classics! when you bought it you agreed on the price for what you wanted and got. Isn't the car still amazing after a couple years? I am Grateful for all of the experiences in all my different cars and yes I do regret selling many/all of them but I wanted to try something different, cant keep em all!
now who wants to trade for my old one?
