Hey all,
This thread also reminded me of something that happened the first week I had the Z/28. There is a great mountain road that I drive up near my home...for fun and to use a large turnout at the top for photos.
I drove the Z/28 up there that 1st week to take some photos, and sure enough, there was a film crew up there also, filming an ad for the web site for aftermarket parts for Porsches (some off road computers for the engine management systems on the GT3R's).
It was kind of funny, as soon as I pulled into the turnout, the entire crew stopped what they were doing and all began to check out my car. They had a guy who was running a camera drone to film the GT3R as it ran up and down the road, and several other cameramen and production crew members there. The driver of the GT3R, whom I assumed was the owner of the parts company, even took a good hard look at my car.
None of them spoke to me, as I took several stills with my Canon, but it was, to me anyway, a sign that the Z/28 certainly did have an "attraction factor" that at least rivaled the triple cost of that GT3R. I now really wish I had taken some stills of that event, just to show the impact of our great cars on the general public in contrast to other ultra high cost vehicles.
I really believe our cars will be of classic collectable status in the future.
Take care, and enjoy your Z/28!!!!!
I sure do.....
JJ
