I should mention that I really like the GXP, just too much money and I wanted better gas mileage.

I dont understand the mileage at all, I get the same I got in my 2004 GTO. I just got back from a trip through the mountains, 1000 mile round trip, including 150-200 miles of 2 lane mountain roads and 20-30 miles of holding gears for spirited drivng I averaged 21 MPG on the whole trip. On the flat highway, with stops, I got 24.5 mpg. Most all of the reports on the G8 forum suggest similar mileage to the Camaro.
