My Camaro sits for 6 months every winter and no flat spots. It's a myth from the old days.

The reason vibration happens in the 50 to 70 mph range is that this is the range where tire revolutions match the resonant frequency of the mass-spring system consisting of the wheel and the suspension. This resonance can be excited by tire unbalance. Wheel weights are the first place to look. But I have also had two defective tires that do not respond even to road force balance. They were General tires and I am never buying that brand again.

What tires do you have?
