The reason vibration happens in the 50 to 70 mph range is that this is the range where tire revolutions match the resonant frequency of the mass-spring system consisting of the wheel and the suspension. This resonance can be excited by tire unbalance. Wheel weights are the first place to look. But I have also had two defective tires that do not respond even to road force balance. They were General tires and I am never buying that brand again.

What tires do you have?
Then why does GM still provide me with information regarding tire flat spotting? GM doc# 03-03-10-007J. I have had 4 brand new tires that could not be brought back into a serviceable limit, pretty sure they were general tires too. You can balance and balance and balance a tire that has an excessive road force and it won't do a thing to the vibration felt, it would like expecting an egg to roll smoothly down the road because it had the yoke perfectly centered inside.
