I get what you are asking.

I wonder the same thing sometimes, but in reverse. How some guys are getting only 12-13 mpg when I am getting 19 mpg on average. I just figure it has to do with some people simply having a 'heavier foot'.

There does seem to be a discrepancy between what similarly spec'd cars are getting, mpg wise. I have seen some even say they are getting 23-24 mpg w/ a bolt on SS. I have no idea how the F that is happening.
