Yep! That happened A LOT yesterday -- and not just the novice class -- that particular driver (novice as in 0 experience) did it 4 times throughout the day. I have the other videos where other's went off the track -- amazed no car damage. The really crazy thing was NO WAVING YELLOW (caution -- off track incident) from the flag man - I looked @ the flag man -- his arms were crossed -- I guess he figured we knew who it was as well as how 'far' he was off the track -- I saw the dust cloud ;o)

One Advanced driver lost an engine and sprayed oil all over the place - they did the dry-all -- that was fun for the advanced group until that was finally removed.

All in all, very fun. I made sure I had 'space' to run to avoid some of those folks -- the total novices didn't get the concept of 'point bys' and had a 'train' behind them. They also didn't 'remember' you don't do a 'point by' in a turn -- talk about SLOW moving during those times...

Some of these events really need instructors for the novice class -- a short coming for this particular event. Their PDX event, however has one instructor per driver -- and that is the way it should be.

Best Novice event was the one NCM put on -- it was very well done...
