I dont want a street car. I did not buy a street car and I dont care anything about how well it gets me to and from work. I walk from my bedroom to my office down the hall.
I bought the Z28 instead of the ZL1 and paid more for it. As I have said I would not pay $40,000 for just a super charged Camaro. Who cares. Its nothing more then a supercharged Camaro. I don't want one. If thats what you want then by all means get one. I am glad GM makes cars for everyone. I love that we have options and lots of different Camaro's. We don't need the Z28 to be a street car.
The Z28 was targeted at me. They guy who takes a new Corvette and upgrades everything on it to make it a track car. The Z28 was perfect from the factory. Thats why I bought one. If I bought a ZL1 and added the Carbon Ceramic Brakes and the cooling system needed I would be well over the cost of the Z28. That car was a steal for what you got. Very few get that.
I have 5800 miles on my Z28. 4 sets of tires, 3 sets of brake pads, 4 oil changes, 3 rear end services and only 1800 street driven miles.
Bring a 2015 ZL1 to the track and watch me lap you. I was on the track with one for about 12 min. Then the ZL1 slide of the track and hit the wall. Complete loss. Great car in the 1/4 mile.
The issue is no one knows what the car is. GM did not make one single commercial for it. 99% of the population hasn't even heard of one. Hell my GM dealership didn't know GM made the car. How many people like me wandered into a GM dealership who had one and saw the car? Of those how many had $60,000 or whatever the dealer wanted for the car? First one I saw was asking $85,000 for it. Stupid dealers over pricing them.

I am not bias because both cars are nice, I have two ZL1's and a buddy of mines have two SS's, one ZL1 and the Z/28 which all are very nice. The ZL1 is definitely far superior over the SS. Your statement saying that the ZL1 is a just a supercharged Camaro is as wrong as wrong can be. I am not going to bad mouth either car because they both are the real deal. It is one's preference over the other (subjective), my buddy which have all variants says that He like the Zl1 better out of all the cars. Now concerning the post will there be a 6th Gen Z/28? if Chevy finds it profitable or target a race class for NA engines who knows what they will do with all the electric car talk now! if they do I am sure it will be nice.
