I feel for you. I went through the same kind of thoughts and test drove other brands and really thought about what I wanted out of my car and what I was going to do with it. In the end I pulled the trigger on a '14 ZL1 and I could not be happier. I'm racing my car on weekends and driving it for work all week long and it just does it all well.
IMO, trade in the 1LE and go get what you want. You'll only take a bigger bath on the trade the longer you wait. Life is to short so get what you want, as long as you can swing it, and enjoy life. We only get one shot at this life so go have fun and here is a link to a post I just did of my AutoX.
