I do know back in the 4th Gen days there was a complaint of a "rusty nail sound" what ever that is. The solution was to run friction modifier for a clutch differential.
Dunno, their website says not to but not why. Its possible a standard fluid for break-in and then switching to synthetic after 500 miles would be fine.
