If you're diligent and remove the rust spots regularly (I try to every wash/once a week) I found a clay bar works great - in particular I use Mother's Clay 2.0 foam pad thingy which is like an infinitely (kinda) reusable "clay bar". I try to use it during every wash, doing one panel at a time, "claying" each panel while still soapy.

If they've been on awhile and are stubborn I just use a minor polish and it takes them off like nothing, just gotta re-wax the area since you'll be taking that off too.
