The oil problem looks like rear main seal to me. I know they are tricky to replace without having a leak. They have a very tight tolerance. The wiring issue is interesting and something i'm sure people will be checking now. If it is widespread I wouldn't be surprised if a tsb gets sent out on it. Good luck.
