Unfortunately every dealer is different. Some will be sticklers on aftermarket parts and make a big stink about anything you install. Others are very mod friendly and some will gladly install your aftermarket parts and still pass any warranty repairs through to GM. My dealer installed my CAGS bypass harness the day I picked it up for free as part of the PDI. I know others on this forum have said their dealer says it's an emission thing and would void the warranty.
It's all really about who you deal with I guess. You could ask around, maybe call a couple different dealers to see what they say about installing an oil cooler.
