I tried this on my car as well. While the back looked ok the front did not look safe at all. I had done some research on this subject and decided to try it out. I opted to remove the spacers and will go with new rims with the correct offset instead. Based on what the front looked like after installing the spacers you will definitely need an alignment otherwise you will get tire wear for sure.
