tim, you make some great points, the fun thing is, my friend henry owns a DP riley, but in the offseason he runs a 700HP ls7 in it making it roughly the same power to weight as a LMP car.
I am personally an ALMS fan, my co worker is a Grand Am fan. its 2 different types of racing, i like the ALMS/LM side of every team having a limit with some aspects, but having the ability to design and build differently. it adds excitement to the racing. but i do go to the rolex 24, i have friends that race, and i like the event itself.
