The power to weight ratio is pretty damn good for the meluscle cars of the years produced. Mine is a little over 3500lbs with a full tank and no weight modifications, pretty damn good with an LS1.
The fact that a lot of parts from different current GM cars can be used with little modification is good.
The simplicity of the interior. There is a gauge cluster, a radio and an HVAC control . . . no extra shit to distract you while you are driving or take away attention from the car.
The looks that it gets to this day make it a blast to drive. A 4th gen hardtop SS is pretty rare so to dget I’ve mine and gets thumbs up puts a smile on my face.
