No it's not. The scat pack might feel faster due to the way power is delivered but it isn't.
Stock for stock the z is a faster car by a good margin.
The thing is, when your engine makes lots of torque all over, and great power through the whole rpm range, it can trick you into thinking it dosen't feel fast. Try looking at your speedometer, that can change your opinion.
I remember when I sold my CBR1000rr and bought a ZX14R, I thought the 14 was slower, then I looked at the Speedo and realized it was just smoother and definitely faster in the range I was comparing (4th gear through 6th)
