if you don't want to go the route of having the windshield replaced, you can "kind of" fix it but having a tint show put a clear film (usually called solar tint) in the HUD area.
In my 2010 Avalanche, I had purchased one of these:

and it comes with a piece of dark tint, I didn't care for, so I had a tint shop put on a piece of clear solar tint and it worked fine, and you can't really see it..
all depends on your desires.

What all the GM cars with HUD use is DuPont™ Butacite® wedged PVB interlayer this is a layer between the 2 layers of glass, it is essentially the same thing as what I am describing above but between the glass layers instead of on the outside.
