In my rally-cross day, I know of a few guys that would rent a car just to take to the rally cross track. They would do some thing to them to make em dirt ready. Also removed airboxes, modified the emerg brake for drifting around the hairpins, etc. So yea, Ive seen some pretty hairy abuse from the rally car crowd when they rented a car to replace their broken car just to keep up the points in their class. Im just surprised how often they got away with it.
