They all have that hole there. That how oil gets up the push rod to the rocker.

Assuming you don’t bleed off pressure in the tore up lifter bore.

You build a performance engine by measuring everything. Pick up some bore snap gauges and caliper and see what the lifter to lifter bore clearance is.

That block is obvious. One lifter bore is obliterated, it’s neighbor on its way out. In the pressurized oil circuit, if one clearance is too big, you are losing oil pressure.

Got a pic of the crank? Any of the journals blackened/purplish from an overheat?
