With regards to getting the V6 and investing in some upgrades instead of going with the stock V8, besides the performance satisfaction, some people just like knowing they're not driving a stock car.
Personally I'd take the V6 and do some minor upgrades (CAI, Exhaust etc.) because thats what i could afford and then look at doing heavier mods later at my discretion. Plus the obvious of saving on gas and insurance. It's also kinda nice to pull up beside someone who doesn't know exactly what you got under the hood.
