Good Morning!
-Big Cam alert-
This is for anyone looking for a rather large cam for their LS3. I’ll post the dyno sheet this afternoon, the shops printer goofed and it’s an ugly printout but I have a video that shows the screen I can share if anyone is interested.
Car is a fair weather ride for me, and I’ve owned as many carb engines as fuel injected so I wasn’t concerned about fussy drivability issues from a big cam.
2010 2SS/RS 63,xxx miles
TR6060 rebuilt by me because I tore 2nd out, and once inside it had been abused before I got it.
Monster twin disk with lightweight Billet Flywheel
MGW
Speed Engineering Long tubes, off road pipes, Rev9 Axle back
CAI Intake
Tick .660 springs/retainers/pushrods
Summit Racing SUM-8711R1 cam, 234/248 113 +3.5 .625/.605 Lift (measured .035 intake and .65 exhaust valve clearance on my motor) installed straight up. I know it’s too close, but safe so far.
Car was tuned by the Horsepower Factory in Finger, TN. Spent an hour driving with a laptop to get low speed fueling set, then hit the dyno for WOT.
Car made 502rwhp right at stock redline, on a Mustang Dyno. Said it was almost 600 crank? Hard to believe, but it is just a dyno number. Car runs very strong, surges in 6th at 55 with light throttle, and loves fuel, but I like it. Drove it to Texas this year for TK22 and got 22 mpg. I’m going to keep an eye on the top end (used Ticks bronze reunion kit) and see how it’s wearing, but for a big cam, this one does it for me. Maybe this will help someone shopping in 2022. Have fun!
