Tach output is on Pin 48 of the black connector.
You need to add a resistor (about 1k ohm) between the tach output and 12V to Pull-Up the Output signal to a usable voltage key on only super simple. Your actual adding a wire into the computer nothing in that pin location from factory.

No other boxes needed. Go to gm dealer pick up couple pins for the computer and wire . you will need hp tuners to change few things in computer but easy also . now you have a rpm signal wire.
