Personally I like changing a couple things just to make it more interesting.

big game players will have a hard time reaching, but if you do have a breakout game, you should be rewarded.

The QB pass td change is so that people don't get locked into drafting RB RB WR WR. Having a league based solely on the RB (aka first 6 picks) shouldn't cut it. If QB's are a little more valuable and can sometimes outscore the running backs, I think it'd change everyone's mindset and give opportunity to people who are further down the draft (should this be a snake auction). Drew Brees could be just as valuable as Chris Johnson so if everyone picks running backs, and you're picking 10th, you still have options for a top notch player.
