I just installed my FTM 400 using a universal windshield mount. I just bought one that would hold an IPHONE 7 and allowed the bottom of the remote head to rest on the dash! Works like a champ. I made a really long cable to go from the base unit all the way to the head and routed the cable under the rug, then under the center console then up through the center speaker and then to the head unit. Clean as a whistle! My antenna is a trunk lid mounted magnet mount. I also have a spare yellow top battery in the trunk in case I decide to use the unit with the car off!
