Yeah, used LS engines are insanely expensive, even as a short block. Probably a good chunk of the reason stuff like first gen CTS-Vs sell for 3x the KBB value; a good running LS6 and T56 trans alone sell for quite a bit more than book value on the whole car in good condition.
