I had P4S's on my wrx and loved them, cornered on a razor. Many SS owners say they don't do well in straight line grip however. How well do they hook up in a straight line for you?
No tire will dead hook 400tq that well on the street. If it does, it’s going to suck in the rain period.

R888R is more of a track tire and 555R is a drag radial... meaning 555R will have more sidewall flex for launching on a prepped strip but for street tires, I like the R888R much more. Handle better and I personal think they launch on the street better. A tad better in the rain for sure. But if you want to drive hard in the rain, 30k mile life, and still good dry performance, the P4S4 is easily the best but no, you won’t be able to deadhook in it. You’d be lucky to get 8k miles with the R888R, very soft tire.
