Actually as lot of cars are using indirect TPMS. It uses the ABS pulses to determine difference from a set reference (button on the dash to set) Mazda and others use this method. I LOVE knowing the exact pressure in the tires though (the Camaro TPMS sensors agree with my $75 dial race pressure gage)
