On the Ashen Gray Metallic, the Matte Black stripes appear to have melted into the clear slightly after five years. The car sits outside 24/7/365. Polishing diminished the marks quite a bit, but couldn't eliminate them, wet sanding may do the trick. This is a daily driver and not a show car, so no real need to take it as far as wet sanding. The marks where the stripes had been are pretty hard to see unless your at just the right angle to them, and looking for them. They're way more than ghosting, its melted clear coat.

Adam's Matte Detailer and Matte Protectants hadn't been released before I pulled the stripes. Give them a try first, it'd be easier and much less time consuming than removing the stripes. They both do an awesome job on Matte/Satin wheels, that much I can tell you from experience.
