The first decision you have to make is this: Am I willing to pay for anything in the powertrain breaking if I tune the car?
If the answer is no, then limit your mods to stuff that won't void the warranty.
If the answer is yes, then mod away!
My C6 loped like a damn racecar and could cruise along at 1200rpm in 6th gear. I went a bit overboard on my C6 for a daily driver though. The ZL1 can get to low to mid 600's rwhp without doing a cam. You can hit high 600's to low 700's with a cam that will still drive like stock. I just wouldn't do a cam with over .630" lift on the stock rockers.
