A stock 2006 m5 weights 4090 lbs also there stock dyno numbers are from 410-430whp and 320-340 wtq

From what I saw on the ls3 dyno sticky a manual with headers , intake , cat back and a tune are good for 420-430 whp , 400-420 wtq .
ls3 420-430 whp , 400-420 wtq with 3860 lbs VS a 06 E60 M5 410-430 whp , 320-340 wtq with 4090 lbs ... I think is a drivers race ( I know the op had a passenger ) but I'm just comparing both cars with all the specs I found on our forum and on some BMW forums also YouTube videos of stock m5 dyno's etc .
Don't take it the wrong way I believe you when you say that your M5 is faster than your cammed ss but I think is because it is an auto ..  I would think you were around 400-410 whp , 360-370 wtq from what I saw on some l99 dyno's on here but I might be wrong so that's why I asked what were your numbers. |
I couldn't tell you off hand. I'll try to find my M5 dyno sheet from 06. The camaro dyno'd at 411 rwhp and 376.74 rwtq. I see your logic with the information you've found on the web but that does not take into account the gearing of a car. At 8000 rpm redline and seven gears the M5 has a clear advantage over the SS from a roll*all things being equal*
We can toss all the numbers in the world at this. Bench and dyno racing have there place. Real world experience is a totally different animal.
How much credibility are we going to give this guy driving a 200 mph bolt on SS. Does he know the ZL1 tops out at 184? Or that the M5 goes around the CTS-V after 155?
Both are around the same RWHP and the same weight with the extra passenger in the SS. No way he rapes the M5 like the video illustrates. Freakish fast Ls3 this kid owns..200mph with bolt-ons. Guess I wasted all my money with this stinking supercharger, lol.
