The Gearing and weight are helping these 5.0's alot, also the boss intake monifold lets the car shift around 7200-7800rpm
Unfortunetly the camaro does have crappy gearing and too much weight. My advice Try getting some 3.73's along with a decent cam it will get you to that trap speed and some sticky tires to lower the time.
