As others mention the summer tires are worthless below 40 degrees. Hopefully you have a winter beater or can afford a second set of winter tires. I bought a spare set with Pirelli Scorpions just so I can drive it when the streets are salt free, or for traveling south to warm up. When it snows I take the 'sports' car, 85 mustang gt with studded snow tires
