16x20 garage build questions

Hey everyone. I'm going to be having a garage built very soon and I need some input. It has been brought up that I might want to build the walls using 2x6s instead of 2x4s due to the fact that I will be able to better insulate. Can anyone provide insight on this? Has anyone had any success doing it this way? Is going the conventional 2x4 good enoug as going with 2x6 will increase cost.
Thanks in advance and I'm sure more questions will come up. I'm just at the beginning stage and almost ready to submit for my permit.
