wow... time's really flown. seems like not too long ago when i met many of y'all for the first time at the very first CamaroFest in valdosta, ga.
but now i realize that was almost 6 years ago - holy cow!!
that weekend was such a fantastic time - from the races to the police-sanctioned burnouts & highway runs to the late nights in the hotel parking lot. heck, even the drive down caravanning with a string of almost 100 cars at one point was amazing!
every time i wear my commemorative t-shirt, i remember that great weekend. unfortunately, the time has come that i finally pull the plug, cut my ties, and retire the old gal. it's kinda fitting that i was wearing it when changing my oil one windy afternoon - because after having used oil blown all over it, it became my go-to shirt for everything it represents - the passion of working on our cars. that said, it's picked up some extra wear & tear to the point where a couple years ago, the car started actually ripping off the back.
well sadly, today was the last day for it. fitting how i was actually wearing it while changing my oil on yet another freezing windy day (of course getting it all over me again
) when it ripped yet again... enough for even me to call it done.
and before it goes in the trash, i figured i should rip the rest of the car out & maybe hang it up in the garage with my signs/posters
thanks again, guys, for making that such an awesome weekend! the shirt may be gone, but the memories won't ever die... unless i get alzheimer's, dementia, or something of the sort.
