Power may or may not be the same. Traction control will intervene faster in Sport and cut power or dump boost as necessary.

You have the same power in Sport as Track. Most of my fast passes have been made in Sport mode. Track mode doesn't add anything other than the ability to use PTM, launch control, and line lock. I've yet to try launch control at the track, because I've always had my fastest launches with everything off during 0-60 testing. That doesn't mean launch control can't produce equal results if everything is set just right.
