The ZL1 1LE has stickier tires and firmer shocks, the extra HP and Aero, will not make a big impact on a non-high speed track. Plus you have the lighter weight advantage.
Taking nothing away from the ZL1 1LE, but the SS 1LE is not that far behind handling wise, unless you are on a track like The Ring.
