Weird post.
Anyway, the solution is to take the 3k for the 71 Camaro, sell oh lets say, 5 or 6 other non running cars for a few hundred each, including the Bonneville.
Now you have 7 or 8k to buy a nice used car that will keep running.
If you're not willing to help yourself, I'm not sure why you expect sympathy from friends, let alone strangers.
