Also, at the beginning of the thread it says it's ok to wax over them but in other threads people have stated you don't want to wax over them. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Txturbo says that clearing over vinyl stripes is fine. No, GM will not be doing this as they never have on any Camaro that has received vinyl stripes since 1974. I have waxed many vinyl stripes in the past with no problems.
