1500 mile service on the differential by changing the fluid is a must. I have done it on mine and Smitty's and they looked identical when the fluid was drained...disgusting. Must be lots of break in from the posi clutch material or just the marking compound...whatever it is, it can't be good and a fluid change is simple to perform. I have changed mine a second time as well and it looked great in comparison.
