Here in Canada and in the province I live in insurance is government regulated. Base insurance will run you 1200 a year regardless of your driving history. You can add 3 rd party insurance to increase your coverage. For 2000 a year you get, full glass coverage, $0 deductible on everything, replacement insurance (only available for the first 3 years on new vehicles) so if your Zl1 is totaled off they buy you a brand new one of the current MY, new part replacement (in an accident, damaged parts aren't repaired, they re replaced), 2 million dollars of liability insurance, hotel and vehicle rental insurance to accommodate you if your vehicle is out of commision plus a bunch of other little extras.
