I've been dealing with this issue.
I changed the sensor by the driver side headers (coolant temp sensor) and the wire connector. Did not fix the issue.
Thermostat next I guess. The car regulates just fine so I'm not optimistic that the thermostat will fix the issue.
We'll see.
