I realize the LS3 is paired with the 6 speed manual and the L99 is with the automatic. What is the difference between the two engines? I have the automatic. I just installed the Borla axle back S-type exhaust. The sound is driving me crazy when I'm cruising along and it shifts between 5th and 6th gears.......It makes a sputtering, drone sound as I speed up and slow down....I was told by Borla that I would need to install at least the X pipe to get the better sound. Do I need to go with Headers, also?
I have a C6 Vette with the LS2 and 6 speed, plus Dynatech Supermaxx headers and B&B exhaust...great sound.

Again, what is the difference between the two engines? And, any advice on why the automatic sounds so strange?
