Interesting! By "car show", are you guys referring to something different than a "concours" style car show? In one of our local club's concours-type events, the adjudicators do touch the cars, inside the tailpipes, on the inside of the wheel wells, inside seal seams, under the side rockers, all those tricky places that dirt gets into! Which I would presume in that sort of environment would be acceptable.
