Well I had a precision industries stall converter, and it had a bad bearing, which messed up a lot of stuff. Had the trans rebuilt, and converter replaced under warranty.
Then the converter clutch came unglued, so I switched to a Yank converter, had Futral check everything in the trans to make sure its all good, they welded the drums, and added a line pressure booster. He changed a lot in my trans tune to get rid of some flaring.
Shift points are better, and the shifting is really firm now, I like it.
I honestly dont know what welding the drums does, I assume it makes them stronger, maybe they break at the seam/factory weld sometimes.
The pressure booster is relatively cheap, and apparently is a necessary improvement for high rpm shifting. Can't say im a transmission guru, so I leave that up to the shop.
