Not to be rude to anyone, but can someone with actual knowledge on this subject give me a straight answer on this. Because I am planning on doing this mod in the next week and I don't want to speed the extra money if I do not need to.

GM gears and/or differential comes with a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty against defects regardless of who installs it. If you have someone else do it, make sure you keep up with the miles and the date it was purchased because if you ever have issues, GM WILL contest it and ask for this info. Be warned, this will override the warranty on the factory gears or differential whichever one you have installed and replace it with the 1 year/12,000 mile warranty.
