Did you try using the small auxillary connection, not the USB? Get a small stereo mini-plug (3.5mm) cable to plug into the auxillary connection (located beneath the USB) and then plug to your headphone jack on your phone. I don't know if the problem you're having with a USB connection is due to lack of compatibility with the Droid or not.
