The above is good advice. I just left the drivers door open when I pulled the negative terminal. It relieves the seal but not so much as to let dust in. For thieves, pull the battery completely, set the car on jack stands and pull the wheels and remove from the storage unit. They would have to break in twice, once to realize there's no wheels or battery, then again to bring some back and install on your car to steal it. Probably the best thing is to have a storage unit that has good security and is in a good neighborhood, then when you do put the car away, don't let others see you put it in there, not even the manager. if you plan to store more than a month and have the access, use some Sta-bil in the fuel and non ethanol gasoline in the tank and make sure it's gone through the lines. fill the tank to prevent condensation on the sides from creating water. Not sure what you can do about the mice or rats except try to get a unit that's tight. Get a car cover to keep it clean.
